“Overall I had a really great experience giving the suitcase to the Hospital Pediatrico Docente Provincial Elife Noel Caueño. I decided to stay in a casa particular with a physician for the first few nights that I was in Cuba. It was great to be able to bring the suitcase to her hospital, because she was able to take it right to the people who need it — something I wouldn’t have known how to do on my own. The physicians and nurses were all so excited to have so many new supplies. Since it is a pediatric hospital, some of the items will be given to the adult hospital, but most of them will be used right there.
I am a medical student, and it was so cool to have the opportunity to better understand the healthcare system by bringing a suitcase of medical supplies.
