“Hello! My name is Trisha Anderson. I graduated nursing school 11 years ago and went on to obtain my BSN a year later. I live in Elk Ridge, Utah with my husband and children. I have 3 boys and 1 girl. We love to travel! My first time going out of the country was to Isla Mujeres, Mexico about 10 years ago. I had heard that the orphanage on the island needed school supplies so I gladly decided to take some with me. From that moment on, I knew that I would never go on vacation again without taking some kind of donation with me. The next few times out of the country, we would take school supplies to orphanages. Then as my kids got older, they wanted to start raising money to take books and soccer balls. I never knew there was the option of taking medical supplies until I heard about Not Just Tourists. As a nurse, this was a dream come true! My first suitcase was taken to Roatan, Honduras. Roatan holds a very special place in my heart and to be able to give back to the people on the island that I get to call my friends felt so great! After signing up for my second suitcase to take to Roatan, I decided I wanted to do more! I wanted to help others that have the same urge to help. I wanted to start a chapter in my home state! I am so very excited for this opportunity and to be able to give back to so many different countries with Not Just Tourists SLC.“
