“I delivered the medical kit to a clinic in Melilla, a pueblo (town) close to Playa Pesquero yesterday, March 2, 2022.
There was one doctor, two nurses and two assistants. They were absolutely thrilled to receive this package. I have attached photos of the group receiving the kit, the form and a list of other supplies that they need that the doctor wrote on a separate sheet.
The clinic serves town people, many of whom work in hotels in the Holguín area. While there was no abject poverty like in many areas of Cuba, the people here are struggling since many hotels are either still closed or open with limited capacity. Many have not worked in 2 years. The clinic was small and clean but very meagre.
We did not get the opportunity to travel to Guardalavaca this week.
