Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a quick story of our travellers Richard and his spouse, who delivered 2 suitcases to Holgiun, Cuba. Thank you, for taking time to deliver our suitcases. [NJT Waterloo]
We arrived in Holguin, Cuba on the night of February 15 with your 2 suitcases. The following morning, we got a bicycle taxi to take us the 1.5km to the V.I. Lenin General Hospital. This is one of the largest hospitals in Cuba and was build with the assistance of the Soviet Union -when that still existed in the mid 1960’s. An attached photo is a brochure listing the wide range of hospital services. A second photo taken in front of the hospital has my spouse holding the NJT page with a hospital administrator in white coat and our taxi driver. You can see his vehicle in the background.
This was the first time that this hospital has received anything from NJT. The hospital administrator was very positive and emotional when she read the letter in Spanish and understood that this was not a religious or political donation but one of friendship from Canada. She had the hospital photographer take our photos to display on the hospital facebook page.
