Thank you to Alfredo for taking a suitcase all the way to the Philippines! <3
“My family and I recently returned from the Philippines where we brought medical supplies and handed over to a local health unit (Pilar Rural Health Unit). Pilar is a small island, (one of threeCamotes islands) located in central Philippines. A population of approximately ten thousand, served by one doctor and nurses and midwives. There are small government clinics in the island but the one we went to was better equipped. Until, typhoon Yolanda (Hayan Internationally known) in 2013 destroyed many of the infrastructures including the health clinics.Slowly they are rebuilding and make use of what little resources they have. They are extremely great full for the supplies and organizations like Not Just Tourists.”
