“We delivered the suitcase to a local clinic. In Cuba there is one clinic per 150 families. We delivered the suitcase of supplies to one of those clinics in a small town about 15 minutes from Guardalavaca. The day we went to the clinic was the day dedicated to pediatric care. We were told that the local clinics have different specialist days scheduled every month.
It was a very small clinic, with three rooms that we saw – a waiting room, a supply room and a larger examination room divided into to examination areas.
The nurse leading the clinic spoke English and was very grateful.
They had a small garden at the side of the farden where they grow plants for medicinal purposes.
It was a very humbling experience.
We hope to return to Cuba next year and plan to take 3 suitcase from NJT when we go.
We also visited the local primary school. As a result we also plan to take used laptop computers when we return for the school.
Thank you for the opportunity to make a small difference.”-Gillian W
