So thankful for repeat travelers, like Susan and Richard, who took another bag to Barbados! [NJT Toronto]
“Once again another successful visit to the clinic in Martires de Barbados. We managed to catch the doctor and her nurses/volunteers before they headed out to do their house calls. The clinic’s operational hours are Mon to Fri 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Afterwards they visit the villagers who are too sick to make it to the clinic.
At the time of our visit there were cases ranging from fever to removing a cast to a prenatal check up. the Doctor also was scheduled in cienfuegos for her shift at the hospital later that day. Poor girl works 24/7 almost.
We had visited this clinic once before and they remembered us and the generosity of NJT. The village itself didn’t suffer too much because of the hurricane other than most of the crops getting washed out. Fresh fruit and vegetables were almost non existent. They are slowly coming back.
Thank you once again for helping us to help others who desperately need it.
Susan and Richard”
