Big thanks to Deborah for taking a suitcase to Clinica Esperanza in Sandy Bay, Roatan <3 [NJT Toronto]
“I have enjoyed the beauty of Roatan for many years and noticed there is a huge need for medical help with the local people of Roatan. Sandy Bay is a large community that has mainlanders coming to squat and has some of the poorest people as residents.
Clinica Esperanza is in this neighbourhood assisting the Colonia and other residents from the entire Island with a wide range of medical services including dental and eye care. They have a diabetic clinic and offer prenatal care as well as delivery. The clinic has North American standards and is visited by over 100 people per day. The Clinic offers outreach community programs and supports all of the Bay Islands. Volunteer doctors and nurses are a huge part of this successful Clinic. They would not be able to provide the consistent care they do without the help of volunteers and donations. Truly a treasure in Roatan. “
