Not Just Tourists Manitoba – Winnipeg wishes to thank Renee and Jeff for taking supplies to Varadero, Cuba.
Jeff and I delivered the suitcase on February 4th. We looked up a clinic that would be for the people of Varadero. We took the hop on/hop off bus from our resort and got off at the big market. We ended up walking back several blocks. The suitcase was on wheels. There were signs on the main road that showed that there was a hospital there. Sure enough we walked to the clinic and were greeted by a nurse who knew right away that we didn’t belong there. We told him our purpose and he introduced us to the doctor who graciously accepted the bag, seriously filled out the form and officially stamped it and posed for the photo. We brought a small HP Sproket so we printed him a copy of the photo which he thought was amazing. We will do this again and we spread the word around our resort. Many people, Cuban and Canadian thanked us for doing this.
