Traveller Sophie took a suitcase to a hospital in Havana, Cuba!
Here’s a little bit about Sophie’s experience:
“Our accommodations in Havana were almost directly across from the Hospital Universitario Gineco Obstetricia. We ventured over unannounced but were warmly welcomed, and the donated suitcase was accepted graciously and with their thanks.
From what we could see, the hospital was also operating a small clinic with a few families waiting, along with a lab and small pharmacy.
I am very happy to have learned about Not Just Tourists. This was our first time taking medical bags for donation on our trip away, and I anticipate we will do so again in the future. This was an easy way to contribute something back to the country we were visiting, and I’m confident the supplies will likely be put to good use.”
Thank you, Sophie!
