“Hello! My name is Renée Quarterman and I’m in Philadelphia. I travelled to Cuba a few months ago and knew that anything that I could take with me would be needed there. I’m a physician, and I packed a suitcase with medical supplies from my office and from my hospital team.
The happiness I felt making that donation inspired me to want to give more often in that way – a way that involves me personally in the work and connects me directly to the recipient.
I searched for organizations that were doing engaging humanitarian work. At a conference on Cuba, I listened to Carl, our US director, talk about NJT. I realized that NJT’s way of helping is the way that I want to help: supporting others to make direct connections as they help individuals and groups around the world. I’m excited to work with you all!”
