Day 4 took us out into the community of Campestre, about 20 minutes from the resort. We walked and knocked on doors to deliver food(a bag each of rice, beans and powdered milk), medicine and clothes. Lots of hugs and thanks and much needed visits to isolated seniors. A couple have mes had little items for sale so I stopped to buy from each one.
The first stop was to visit the doctor at the clinic. It serves as a check up, procedure and emergency room. With a small partition between the procedure bed and the labour and delivery bed.
It was a very emotional day with laughter and reflection of life at home in Canada. I loved every minute of the day. We even stopped at a roadside vendor to buy banana, passion fruit and Avacado.
Our assistant for the day, Jesus insisted we join him on his patios for plantain chips, Bonita chips(fried sweet potato) and coffee. It was a fun time visiting with him. Nelda!
