“We hired a driver to pick us up on our resort on Cayo Santa Marie island…we where staying at Valentin Perla Blanca Resort on this island..it was a 2 hour drive from Santa Clara…we drove to a small town called Remedios which was an hour away from the island of Cayo Santa Marie ..it was back on the main island of Cuba..we went to the small hospital they have there and our guide spoke with the director of the hospital…she spoke very little English herself…she told us that because of her government that they where not allowed to accept any kind of donations at this small hospital she told our guide that if we took them to the church down the road that they could accept them there and then he would give them back to the hospital…she looked at the supplies and was very grateful…
we then went to the church and after sometime waiting and our guide speaking to a girl that was at church the pastor of the church came and another lady..they both spoke some English..they where so so grateful to accept the medical package….this church gives all sorts of help to the people in this town.I am a retired registered nurse and seeing this hospital in this town was so interesting and the people we dealt with where so so grateful… thanks for this opportunity to help these people” –Nancy S, Sarnia
