“I worked with the director of Emerging Voices, based out of Bogota, to find a hospital in need of supplies. The director found a hospital in one of the poorest areas, Le Candelaria. This hospital treated many homeless patients in the area.
We were able to meet with the director who was so appreciative of the donations he insisted on giving us a tour of the hospital. We chatted about differences between our health care systems and what his biggest challenges were as a physician and director of the hospital. It was great to provide help to their hospital as the supplies they are able to afford are significantly limited. Thanks to “Not Just Tourists” for making this happen!”
