Not Just Tourists Vancouver thanks the family of Isabelle Major and Stone, Steele, Eclipse and Coast Malott for delivering 5 medical suitcases to Matanzas! They lost their phone with the pictures, so we’ve substituted the clinic form and hospital scenes.
The family split their 5 suitcases between 2 local hospitals: Hospital Materno Antigua (maternity) and Hospital Provincial Clinico Quirurgico Docente Faustino Perez (a surgical and teaching hospital).
Isabelle, who works in healthcare, found the medical staff she met to be very appreciative, adding: “I got to tour the NICU at the maternity hospital and talk with one of the pediatricians. They are doing their best with what they have but obviously supplies are limited. We talked about bigger items such as infant monitors, ultrasound machines that were very limited that would facilitate their work.”
