Yes, we delivered the suitcases! Clinica Esperanza was closed for the holidays, so we asked a local to take us to a clinic that serves his community. He took us to a rural part of the island where they serve a lot of HIV positive patients. We asked the doctor there if they could use any of the supplies we brought and she said they could use everything, so we left them the suitcases. She also gave us a small tour and told us they have regulars who have to come in every month for their HIV labs and treatment and if they don’t see them one month, they will track them down for a home visit. We were surprised by the level of engagement they have with the community!
It was a great experience for my kids and family. Thank you all so much for helping facilitate this at the last minute!! Here are some photos.
