“We got home yesterday. Adventure indeed. Unfortunately, our vacation was interrupted and complicated by COVID. Three of our adult children tested positive (one had symptoms) and were first taken to a hospital then to an isolation hotel. They spent a week there with my husband Tom and I communicating, advocating, and rearranging their and our trips. So it was stressful BUT we are all well now and there were certainly highlights!
Taking the NJT suitcases to Posta Central Camilo clinic was certainly one of the highlights . Here are some pictures. Thanks so much for this opportunity and I will definitely do it again should we travel back to Cuba or to other countries in need.
It was important to me to take NJT suitcases because as a retired midwife who has been privileged to work in Canada’s healthcare system I wanted to do what I could to show my support for workers who have to work in systems that are lacking in current needed materials.
The Cuban people were absolutely caring and went out of their way to help us as much as they could.”
