“I visited a clinic in a small village north of Antananarivo. This is the doctor, she is the only one and the village has 8000 people. She has been their doctor for 33 years, and she basically does everything in this little house. She’s done over 1000 baby deliveries over her career. She said they sometimes have a doctor from the city come, but it’s very rare because no one can afford it. When I told her about your organization and the supplies she started crying, and in return she gave me a bag of rice – I was told to take it as it’s her way of saying thank you – of course I gave it to some locals.”
