Traveller Dylan had an adventure delivering a suitcase to Rhino Camp Refugee Settlement in Ugana!
Here’s what happened:
“I had an amazing time. I went to Uganda for a month. After doing some research, I discovered that 80% of medical infrastructure is in Kampala (the capital), but only 20% of people live there. So I figured since I was going North, I’d drop off the suitcases somewhere more remote.
What my research didn’t tell me was that the roads to get there were crazy! I flooded my car trying to cross a washout (in hindsight I should have walked in and checked the depth myself). Luckily, a bunch of teenagers pushed me out and I was able to make the delivery.
At the clinic they were very grateful, but also very confused as to how I got there! The clinic itself was very basic, and filled with young Sudanese women and their babies. I’m happy to make a small difference if I can, and have an adventure to boot.”
Thank you to Dylan for going above and beyond!
